Small steps can make a big difference
Smallmatters is a Norwegian design and recycling initiative that makes cloth bags, folders and sweaters from textile scraps and leftover yarn. 90% of environmental emissions occur in the production of the textile itself and tons of fully usable textiles are thrown away.
That's why we only use existing textiles.
Our products are designed to make it easy for you to take care of what you already have, while replacing a huge number of disposable bags. And last but not least, it is a personal and lasting gift, as all products can be personalized with a name or text.
MADE FOR YOU, AND GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT!
Our history
Often, it takes little for us humans to change our consumption patterns to something far more environmentally friendly.
We want to create awareness about this – by showing that much of what has already been produced can be reused, without compromising design, the environment or quality.
From waste to resource
There is a limit to what nature can deliver and it is in our common interest to take care of the resources we manage, both for those living today and future generations.
Therefore, Smallmatters only uses existing textile waste or textile remnants in our production.

The textile industry emits more greenhouse gases than all air traffic and shipping in the world combined.
Approximately 90 percent of emissions occur in the production of new textiles – while masses of fully usable textiles are thrown away.
