Smallmatters only uses surplus materials (waste), which would otherwise be thrown away or burned, to develop our reusable products. Our products help to prevent new resources from being extracted from the earth, reduce the purchase of unnecessary disposable items and help consumers, without stress, to take care of their things or carry their things with them, both at home and when traveling. This is our contribution to sustainable development.
Sustainable development is a global concept based on solidarity with future generations, as well as all those living today. We only have one planet, with a limit to what nature can deliver today, without going beyond what it can deliver in the future. It is in our common interest to take care of the planet and the resources we manage.
Today, it takes 1.7 Earths to produce everything the world consumes in a year. We are using resources we don't have, we are becoming more numerous, and we are producing and consuming more. If we continue like this, we will destroy the future of both the planet and the people who live here. That is why we need a plan to steer development in a direction that is good for everyone.
Based on input from more than 7 million people around the world, the UN has developed 17 goals that will serve as a global action plan. The Sustainable Development Goals are the world's shared plan to eradicate poverty, fight inequality and halt climate change by 2030.

The environmental dimension of sustainable development is about preserving nature and the climate as a renewable resource for humans. Humans are completely dependent on nature for their livelihoods. The way we use nature today has major consequences for both nature and humans. Our greenhouse gas emissions are warming the oceans and air, destroying entire ecosystems and contributing to the extinction of species for good. This makes us more vulnerable to natural disasters, threatens our livelihoods and can provide fertile ground for conflicts in the fight for natural resources.
We need to consume less, use resources smarter and reuse existing materials. Everyone can make an effort and every small change has an impact.

Hvorfor velge smallmatters?
Smallmatters startet med en visjon om å redusere avfall ved å bruke overskuddsmaterialer og restegarn. I dag er hvert produkt laget av naturlige fibre eller gjenbruksmaterialer, i begrensede opplag.

Vi er et kvinnelig gründerselskap som designer i Norge, og produserer både her og i Indre Mongolia.

Vi holder til på Vinderen i Oslo. Herfra sender vi varer til hele landet med leveringstid på 1-3 dager.
