The Tåsen store Smallmatters has been open for almost a year, hidden behind roadworks. - It's tough. The premises at Tåsenveien 26 have housed Smallmatters for just under a year. From its inception in 2018, the company has been a purely online store, but now you can physically shop for everything from tote bags and folders, to towels and sweaters - all made from textile remnants, textile waste and surplus textiles. |

The textile industry in the past year A lot of exciting and positive things have happened in the textile sector during 2022. Among other things, the European Commission presented a textile strategy in March as part of its circular economy action plan. This pleases Smallmatters, which only uses existing textiles and recycled materials in our production. |

Is a sustainable textile industry possible? Yes, we believe a sustainable textile industry is possible, but there is a long way to go, and no one can do it alone. Both producers, consumers and, not least, government incentives and restrictions are needed to succeed. |

For three years, Smallmatters has been producing materials that others call waste. It all started as a B2B adventure, but today the founders Janicke Lorange and Line Houge are successful in both the HORECA market, among private individuals and the public market. As the 2021 pandemic has ravaged the hotel, travel and nightlife industries, new opportunities are opening up along the way. The customer list is growing, as is the online store, which increased by a whopping 152 percent during 2021. |
